Art+Science Talks — Yerevan, Armenia

Art+Science Talks is a new public program initiated by Ars Techne in Yerevan to nurture open dialogue at the intersection of artistic imagination, scientific thinking, and technological experimentation. Designed as a meeting point for researchers, artists, engineers, ecologists, and curious publics, the series invites speakers whose work challenges boundaries—between disciplines, between species, and between ways of sensing and understanding the world.

Each session features a presentation followed by an open conversation, creating an accessible space where complex ideas can circulate without hierarchy. Topics range from environmental sciences and ecological stewardship to creative coding, AI ethics, feminist technoscience, open-hardware cultures, and emerging media practices. The goal is to reveal how scientific inquiry and artistic exploration can inform one another and generate new forms of knowledge, responsibility, and imagination.

Rooted in Ars Techne’s commitment to open knowledge, interdisciplinary collaboration, and ecological consciousness, the program embraces dialogue as a form of shared research. Guest speakers are encouraged to reflect not only on their methods but also on the ethical, political, and planetary questions embedded in their work—echoing the foundation’s emphasis on transparency, collective inquiry, and responsible innovation.

Taking place in Yerevan, Art+Science Talks contributes to the city’s growing ecosystem of contemporary culture and positions Armenia as an active node in regional and international discussions around art, science, and technology. The series welcomes anyone interested in understanding how creative and scientific practices can help shape more just, sustainable, and interconnected futures.
